This magnificent stone building is located in small fortified village XI century village at an altitude of 665 m above sea level. The hamlet was erected on top of a hill and according to inscriptions found in the nearby archeological site Carsulae the earliest parts date back to Roman times. It was one of the first fortified towns built by Arnolfo di Cambio, being also government seat in the thirteenth century, and 4 watchtowers were added to oversee the Martani mountains and protect both the noble people and villagers. The mountains encircling the hilltop are covered with dense woods and divided by enchanting valleys, providing impressive views to be enjoyed for the village which even today still features its original elongated structure, with towers at the corners.
The property is situated in the middle of the hamlet and faces the main square which also features a Roman church. The area is well known by hikers, with many trails that wind through the Martani Mountains, other places of interest are the many archaeological sites like Carsulae. It is located about 15 km from he E45 highway. Schools and shops can be found about 10 km in the Town of Acquasparta.
